In Your Eyes by Willie Tuttafucco

No contacts or corrective lenses needed
Seeing clearly, even when rain is falling
Masking tears of joy that fall
From ducts envious of what we share

You slowly blink twice
Which unlocks the magic that is your
Smile :)
Out comes the sun
Drying up all the rain
Neither it nor I stand a chance
Against your eyes

Thanks to the power in your eyes
The leaves are released
On probation from their winter incarceration
Their colors awaken from hibernation

For you I will be protective like your Iris
Colorful and responsive to brightness
Longing to be a pupil of your pupil

Our visual dances during one of your glances
Is enough to put me on cloud #9
While singing 99 Luft Balloons

When I close my eyes
Your presence surrounds me
Even when you aren’t near
I can see you
Elation, never fearing
This claustrophobic love
Because it makes me sick with passion
And nauseous with glee

When I look into your eyes
I see twinkling stars and
Sparkling promises for a better tomorrow
Shining brighter than a thousand suns
Rays covering the surface of the earth

You have taken over my heart
My soul mind and body will follow suit
In due time
For they too, are yours for the taking,
I am slave to your eyesight,
Moving in whichever direction you are looking
Forever longing to remain in your peripheral

That's it, I Quit

tough to say if your tears were fake enough
irregardless, we're still breaking up
like cell phone signals underground
...can you hear me now?

Never Again like Kelly Clarkson said:
they may believe you but I never
will.
still footing the bill,
literally and emotionally
hopefully the thrill was worth it totally.

Yes, I was burned but I call it a lesson learned.
Everything happens for a reason.
Seasons change.
Insert more cliches that all mean the same.
We talking bout practice???
Not the game?!?
Such a crying shame
pointless to assign blame
or finger point (unless it's the middle like Monie:)

What's been done can't be undone
committed flagrant fouls playing one on one
...on one who was flagrantly committed too
(but to you)
undetected for years like Donaghy.

a drama scene straight outta
the Shakespearian era
A true comedy of errors
ensure that ties are properly severed

Yes, I was burned but I call it a lesson learned.
denial is a river in Egypt

sincerely yours,
David Stern

CAN WE PRETEND: as featured on the soundtrack to My Life

Can We Pretend

Can we pretend
That from now on
There is no yesterday
Paint a portrait of tomorrow
With no colors from today

Chorus:
There’s a light that shines in your face sometimes
That takes my feelings and wraps them around your need
But there’s a shadow hiding in your heart sometimes
That makes my feelings turn back in on me

Can we pretend
The pain is gone
And go our merry way
Paint a portrait of tomorrow
With the colors bright and gay

Repeat Chorus

–Bill Withers

Ever Onwards
Ever Upwards
Learn from the past
Build for your future
Plan for the worse
Hope for the best
Imagine & make it reality
Sounds simple
don’t it?!?

Wait to greet fate
Control your own destiny
Come so far yet many more moons to travel
Hope to see you there too

yes
you
talk soon
curious to listen
much to say

mind your p’s…save the q’s for later

Pops’ persistently preached: practice produces perfection (per se) and proper planning probably prevents piss-poor performance.

Paulo prefers proactive poetry over procrastinating prose - like a petty porpoise with a pretty purpose.

Parallel parking players privately procure promiscuous prostitutes’ pleasure with pornographic paraphernalia purchased from playboy and penthouse. Prudent protégés passionately prepare popular pool parties.

Positively, poverty painfully punishes parents while prisons prohibit peaceful progress with powerful public propaganda. Police protocol properly protects their partners and prosecutes provocative pacifists. Pathetic!

Polaroid pictures prove perception is a priority, like protecting puny puppies from putrid predators with problematic personalities. Proposing at the prom is a parody of pulling punches.

Professors pontificate: my present post’s pattern is a perfect Pulitzer-Prize prototype. Phenomenally.

Peace.

he said/ SHE SAID (Version 2.0 - the unspoken truth)

I sometimes talk to you in a condescending tone.
I
always try to make you smile
I
never talk the talk
I sometimes think it's my way or the highway.
I
always regret what I did
I
never feel like I do enough
I sometimes wish I felt like your number one.
I
always know when you're lying
I
never thought we would be apart again
I sometimes should be more appreciative of the things you do.
I
always will remember our first first
I
never will forget our last
I sometimes wish we could agree to disagree
I
always will be there for you
I
never knew love could hurt so much
I sometimes have different priorities
I
always want to defy any type of authority
I
never let down my guard
I sometimes forget to do the little things
I
always want you to strive for more
I
never say thank you enough
I sometimes wonder if being married should make me feel differently
I
always want to live life to the fullest
I
never want to wonder what if
I sometimes just want to be left alone
I
always want you to be happy
I
never will stop loving you

a tale of two cities

A battle for supremacy essentially
Searching independently
Bended Knee for a century
Mentally challenging
Unraveling life can't get
No satisfaction
Guaranteed
To win like sheed
Wallace indeed

maybe we're 2 different

a different basis 4 cases
2 different places
2 different spaces
2 different faces
2 different paces
2 different embraces
2 different aces
maybe we're just 2 different...

the masquerade is over.
