Ring Tone by the Pride Piper

The Pride Piper's back for another one of his updated classics, adapted for modern times and modern technology. Today's track is originally by Midnight Star called Slow Jam (YouTube Video). Now I know and understand if some of you out there might not be familiar with the group Midnight Star so rather than cyber-jack their bio, I'll provide you a link to their Wikipedia Page. And while I'm at it, I'll take a moment to give a shout to my pops who used to play these jams when i was ankle low to a caterpillar's toe. Good Looking Out Pops!!

Spoiler\........./ Alert:
This adaptation reflects the
possibility that in the not so
distant future a couple
could fall in love
over a ring
tone
.

Ring Tone

I was all alone
I was feeling rather low
I needed someone to
Lift my spirits up

So I dropped in on a dance
Just to take a glance
And there this sweet, lovely thing was
She was more than enough

I asked her for her hand
Said, "Would you like to dance?"
So pleased that I had asked
She quickly took my hand
And we danced and fell in love
On a ring tone

Play another ring tone
This time make it sweet
On a ring tone
For my baby and for me
Play another ring tone
This time make it sweet
On a ring tone ( a ring tone, yeah)

Seems what you say is true
I feel the same way too
See I waited all night long
Just to dance with you

And when you touched my hand
I knew you were the man
To turn my world around
And make my dreams come true

The magic in your eyes made me realize
That everything I feel has got to be real
And we danced and fell in love
On a ring tone

Play another ring tone
This time make it sweet
On a ring tone
Play another ring tone
This time make it sweet
On a ring tone

Play another ring tone
This time make it sweet
On a ring tone
Play another ring tone
This time make it sweet
On a ring tone

Play another ring tone
This time make it sweet
On a ring tone
Play another ring tone
This time make it sweet
On a ring tone

Anatomy of a Mix: Hate That I Love You

I'm back with another installment of Anatomy of Mix, a journey inside the mind of tuttafucco...

Technology Concepts 1

For those not so familiar with this series of my blog, it's where I provide insight into the subliminal elements underneath some of my mixes. Often at times, I simply put together two songs because I think they sound good together. Other times though, I combine two songs because of their meaning in relation to each other. For a refresher on this concept, please check: Anatomy of a Mix: Billie Jean (Moonwalkin).

Today's mix started with the instrumental to a RZA song, Domestic Violence (Click Here for YouTube Video or view the embedded video below if you're able to see it.)

I'm going to skip over the part where I add a disclaimer about how I don't condone domestic violence because I'm not a fan of preaching to the choir. As the song is essentially about a dysfunctional relationship, I tried to think of think of songs that would be conceptually interesting to mix with the instrumental. Given the RZA track, the two obvious ideas would be songs about an immensely intense love or an equally strong disdain. As luck would have it, I found a song that hits both ends of the spectrum (sort of).

If you want to watch the video or hear the original version of Hate That I Love You Click Here.

I hope you enjoy it.

Mr. Cell Phone Man by the Pride Piper

The Pride Piper's coming at you with another touched-up classic...He's been spending a lot of time in the studio as of late, feverishly banging out remixes like Kandi on the Real Housewives of ATL. So don't sleep or you'll likely to be Tardy for the Party!!

Mr. Cell Phone Man by the Pride Piper

Mr. Cell Phone Man,
There's something wrong with her cell,
When I dial my baby's number
I get a click...what the hell?
Mr. Cell Phone Man,
There's something wrong with her cell
When I dial my baby's number
I get a click...what the hell?

When I dialed 611 Customer Service,
He said, "Hello may I help you please?"
I told him something must be wrong with my phone
Cause my baby wouldn't hang up on me.

Mr. Cell Phone Man,
There something wrong with her cell
When I dial my baby's number
I get a click...what the hell?
Mr. Cell Phone Man,
There something wrong with her cell
When I dial my baby's number
I get a click...what the hell?

She let the phone ring 20 times before she answered
Let me tell you what happened then (ahhhh)
A minute later, I got the operator
Saying please hang up and place your call again.

Mr. Cell Phone Man,
There's something wrong with her cell
When I dial my baby's number
I get a click...what the hell?
Mr. Cell Phone Man,
Something's wrong with her cell
I try to dial her number
I get a click...what the hell?

Some strange man is on the telephone (the telephone)
He keeps telling me my baby ain't home (that she's not home)
She ain't got no party line (Oooh!)
This situation's blowing my mind (Oooh!)
Oh, I just can't take it anymore.

Please operator. See what you can do. I dialed the right number but I still couldn't get through. Could you just check the line just one more time if you can. I'm pretty sure her phone wouldn't be answered by no man.

Mr. Cell Phone Man,
There's something wrong with her cell
When I dial my baby's number
I get a click...what the hell?
Mr. Cell Phone Man,
Something's wrong with her cell
I try to dial her number
I get a click...what the hell?

Must be a bad connection. I give her my love and affection.
I just can't take this no more.
This situation's blowing my mind...
blowing my mind...
Can't get my baby on the line.

I tried dialing information (Mr. Cell Phone Man)
I can't get no cooperation (Mr. Cell Phone Man)
Cause he's still on the phone
Telling me my baby ain't at home
Come on baby, I just can't take it any more

textual healing by the pride piper

Ooh, now let's get down tonight
Baby I'm hot just like an oven
I need some lovin'
And baby, I can't hold it much longer
It's getting stronger and stronger
And when I get that feeling
I want Textual Healing
Textual Healing, oh baby
Makes me feel so fine
Helps to relieve my mind
Textual Healing baby, is good for me
Textual Healing is something that's good for me
Whenever blue tear drops are falling
And my emotional stability is leaving me
There is something I can do
I can get on my 3G iPhone and text you up baby, and
Honey I know you'll be there to relieve me
The texts you'll give to me will free me
If you don't know the texts you're dealing
I can tell you, darling, that it's Textual Healing
Get up, Get up, Get up, Get up, let's text it up tonight
Wake up, Wake up, Wake up, Wake up, cuz you text me right
Baby I got sick this morning
A sea was storming inside of me
Baby I think I'm capsizing
The waves are rising and rising
And when I get that feeling
I want Textual Healing
Textual Healing is good for me
Makes me feel so fine, it's such a rush
Helps to relieve the mind, and it's good for us
Textual Healing, baby, is good for me
Textual Healing is something that's good for me
And it's good for me and it's good to me
My baby ohhh
Come take control, just grab a hold
Of my body and mind soon we'll be making it
Honey, oh we're feeling fine
You're my medicine open up and let me in
Darling, you're so great
I can't wait for you to operate
I can't wait for you to operate
When I get this feeling, I need Textual Healing
